Who doesn’t love a good black-and-white wedding?! The simple elegance of a wedding like this will never be just a trend or go out of style. There is absolutely nothing wrong with incorporating trending elements and details into your wedding day, but there is something so special about the timeless nature of simplicity. The Panosians had a beautiful May wedding at The Terrace Wedding Venue, located about an hour from Greenville, South Carolina. The bride chose a classic black-and-white color palette, incorporating lush white florals, touches of greenery, and elegant glass accents throughout the day. She even opted for black taper candles in clear glass vases, creating a beautiful and timeless tablescape that tied the entire wedding design together.
Even though mornings in the bridal suite can get quite busy, with everyone running around getting their hair and makeup done, steaming dresses, and making sure everything is in order for the day, in my mind, those mornings have always been the calm before the storm. I have always thought that mornings with the bridal party are so much fun, and that was especially true with the Panosians! I don’t think I ever saw the bride without a beaming smile on her face throughout the entire day.
The day started with the bridesmaids and groomsmen getting ready in their respective suites. From there, we moved into first looks with the father of the bride and mother of the groom. Finally, it was time for the bride and groom’s first look, where they also exchanged private vows with each other. It was such a sweet way to begin their wedding day!
Although the Panosians had already shared their first look earlier in the day, it did not diminish the excitement and emotions of their ceremony one bit. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, they exchanged their vows in a beautiful outdoor setting. One of the most beautiful moments of the ceremony was when loved ones were invited to come forward and gather around the couple for a time of prayer. Having the people they love most surrounding them and praying over their marriage was such a beautiful and personal moment to witness. It was a sweet reminder that their wedding day wasn’t just about celebrating their marriage, but also about the community of people who will continue to love and support them throughout life. It was also so clear all the guests had the BEST time during cocktail hour, (I had to whisk the bride and groom away for a little bit after the ceremony for a while to take couple portraits), so they made sure their guests were taken care of in the best way…meaning good food, drinks, and comfortable seating.
We were able to take the Panosians’ couple portraits in the open field at the venue, and I absolutely LOVE how her white gown pops against all of the greenery surrounding them. There was something so effortlessly romantic about these portraits. The way the light, the wide-open field, and the movement of her dress all came together made the whole scene feel almost like it belonged in a movie.
Looking through these photos, it honestly feels like we got a little glimpse into a movie scene—and I think that’s one of my favorite things about wedding photography. It’s not just about capturing what a wedding day looked like, but creating images that bring you right back to how it felt. These portraits feel timeless, romantic, and completely them, and I could have photographed them out in that field all day!
